SZM 3 INCH COLD AIR INTAKE

The SZM 3-Inch Cold Air Intake is a complete bolt-on induction kit for the Nissan GT-R R35 (2009 onwards), combining SZM's 76mm mandrel-bent aluminium intake pipes with a matched pair of SZM 3" dual-cone high-flow air filters. It replaces the restrictive factory airboxes and gives the MAF sensors the headroom needed for builds pushing beyond 650-700 WHP.

What's in the kit

• 1 × SZM 3" Cold Air Intake Pipes: mandrel-bent aluminium, one per bank, with stainless steel T-bolt clamps and mounting brackets
• 2 × SZM 3" Dual-Cone High-Flow Air Filters: 76mm neck, 114mm width, 170mm height, washable and reusable

Why upgrade to a 3-inch intake?

• Removes the factory flow bottleneck. The OEM airboxes choke top-end airflow; the 76mm mandrel-bent pipes hold a constant cross-section from filter to turbo inlet.
• Keeps MAF readings honest past 650 WHP. Larger tubing gives the tuner usable Mass Air Flow range instead of a pegged sensor.
• Doubles the filtration surface. The dual-cone element flows more air at the same restriction as a single cone, and is washable rather than disposable.
• Audible spool. Removing the airboxes uncovers the VR38DETT turbo and blow-off noise.

Does it fit my GT-R?

Yes. All Nissan GT-R R35 model years, 2009 to current, are covered. No cutting or permanent modification is required; the kit clamps to the factory turbo inlets.

What power level is this intake good for?

The 3" size suits Stage 1 through Stage 3 builds and supports roughly 650-700 WHP. Builds above that should step up to the 3.5" or 4" induction sizes.

Do I need a retune after fitting it?

A retune is strongly recommended. The intake changes measured airflow, so the ECU should be recalibrated to take advantage of it safely.

How long does installation take?

Roughly 1 to 2 hours with basic hand tools. The filters clamp on; the pipes bolt to the factory mounting points.

Are the filters serviceable?

Yes. The dual-cone filters are washable and reusable. Clean and re-oil rather than replace, typically every 75,000 km under normal driving.
