Engineering Overview

When upgrading the intake system on a high-horsepower Nissan GT-R R35 build 1,200+HP, the factory 60mm throttle bodies become a major airflow restriction, causing intake manifold pressure drop and limiting top-end power. Upgrading to larger Bosch 74mm Electronic Drive-By-Wire (DBW) Throttle Bodies significantly improves airflow mass and engine response, but their mounting flange and bolt pattern differ completely from the stock VR38DETT intake manifold and aftermarket manifolds designed for factory flange patterns.
